Licensed Therapist or Counseling Intern at LifeWorks of Sonoma County

LifeWorks of Sonoma County, founded in 1996, is a nonprofit organization providing comprehensive mental health services to meet the diverse needs of children and adults throughout Sonoma County. We provide education and counseling services to foster and support positive emotional development for those in our community.
Service Provider Positions
We are looking for an intern or licensed clinician to work in multiple programs within the agency.
LifeWorks School Based Program: offers mental health services for children, ages five-18, at the child’s school site. This includes individual and group therapy and can include support in the classroom.
LifeWorks Behavioral Services: provides in-home therapy and behavioral/parenting interventions to youth ages 4-21. Families are served throughout Sonoma County
Under the general direction of the LifeWorks of Sonoma County Clinical Director and/or Program Director, the therapist:
-provides individual counseling and/or behavioral coaching services for up to 24 hours per week.
-provides services in varied settings throughout Sonoma County.
-maintains daily documentation and clinical notes of all services provided according to agency standards.
-maintains billing records for all services rendered
-attends regular meetings with school, county or other agency partners to provide adequate service
-completes assessments, client goals, and counseling summaries for each student served in a timely manner.
-collaborates with the school psychologists, social workers, outside therapists and other professionals necessary in provision of services
-attends weekly agency meetings
-Master’s Degree in the Mental Health field (proof of diploma required)
-Current licensure or intern status required
Qualifications and Requirements
-Two+ years of experience working with children and families in a mental health setting
-Ability to be flexible and cooperative with changing needs of students, teachers, families and staff
-Knowledge and experience with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and specifically with the formulation and focus on social/emotional/behavioral goals
-Professional liability insurance (proof of insurance required)
-Valid CA driver’s license and insurance.
-Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance
-Must have an insured vehicle that can be used to travel to client homes
-Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates strongly preferred
